This two-part LivePlus™ online course is designed for beginners and people with experience of the medium.
Workshop details
These workshops will show you how to paint mountains in the landscape with watercolour paint.
The first week will be a winter scene, the second week a spring scene. Using photos as reference, you will be shown how to mix the colours of winter and spring and how to paint the scale and form of mountains.
Each session will include a two-hour demonstration with time for Q&A. You will also have the opportunity to show your own work and receive helpful feedback from the tutor.

Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below. This list is for guidance only - you can improvise and source your own materials, either in advance or once you have seen the LivePlus™ workshop, giving you maximum flexibility to choose how you would like to approach this craft.
You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching the live demonstration – the demo session is a time to watch, ask and learn. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.

Materials
- 1 x A4 or ¼ imperial pad of ‘Not’ surface watercolour paper 140lb/300gsm (‘Not’ refers to the surface texture of the paper and is also known as CP (cold pressed) or Bockingford)
- 1 x size 8 or 10 round watercolour brush
- 1 x size 4 round watercolour brush
- watercolour paint, either tubes or pans
- I recommend the following as a basic selection of colours:
Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Cadmium Yellow Pale or Aureolin, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red - tissues
- 2B pencil
- putty rubber
- water container
