Discover a creative approach to goldwork embroidery. Hanny will show you how, by learning the fundamentals of goldwork, you can open up a world of possibilities to experiment and explore over the four weeks, giving plenty of time for experimentation and development.
Hanny's goldwork embroidery workshops are a balance of technique and experimentation, leaving ‘breathing space’ for you to find your own creative response to the historical techniques of goldwork. By learning the foundations, you can find your own outcomes and have more ownership over how you use the techniques.
This workshop gives stitchers of all abilities the opportunity to explore the beautiful possibilities of goldwork, building up throughout the course a series of hand embroiderer samples and small pieces which can become a ‘tool kit’ of techniques to further your creativity and enhance your artwork

Equipment & materials list
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below. This list is for guidance only - you can improvise and source your own materials, either in advance or once you have seen the LivePlus™ workshop, giving you maximum flexibility to choose how you would like to approach this craft.
You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching the live demonstration – the demo session is a time to watch, ask and learn. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
Goldwork threads:
As this is a creative class with no set kit, you are welcome to explore a range of threads. It is recommended to start with passing threads before exploring other types of goldwork thread. A range of metals, colours and sizes will allow you to experiment at first and find your creative voice.
Hanny has created two kits to accompany this course, a small kit at £11 or a larger kit at £25. Details of how to order will be provided after booking.
