Workshop Details
Learn the techniques to embroider an Elizabethan style knot garden. The design is just a few inches in size and incorporates a variety of traditional hand embroidery stitches. Students can choose their own colours and personalise their project.
Have fun stitching your own small knot garden on this one-day class. The design will be drawn on to the background fabric, so that you can get straight into the stitching. You can choose your own colours if you wish to, or you can follow the tutor’s guide. The hand embroidery stitches used are all simple hand embroidery stitches. Some areas are stitched using different coloured threads mixed together in the needle to create extra texture and natural blending. You will learn a variety of stitches to create hedges, fences and small flowers. There will be other design ideas and books to look at on the day to inspire you further.

Materials
Materials are not included in your workshop fee. All materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £12.50 payable to the tutor during the class.
Students please bring
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

- A 6, 7 or 8 inch ring frame if you have one (These will also be available to purchase)
- Small sharp pointed embroidery scissors.
- Appropriate eyewear … glasses and magnifiers if you use them!
