Speaker: Sharn Matthews
Wed 21st April 10am - 11:15am (UK time)
Some of the clothes we have chosen to wear have been causing offence to others since Adam and Eve – and making headlines or sermons for centuries. In this 60 minute talk, Sharn explores the ways in which fashionable dress, including the use of fur and feathers, have been termed ‘immoral’ over the last three centuries.
The inspiration for this talk stems from Sharn's 50 years of working with costume collections in museums across the UK. As with all of our ArtTalks, it will be accompanied by lots of imagery and will offer you plenty of opportunity to ask questions in the open Q&A session at the end.
