Wed 5th May 10am - 11:30am workshop demo
(UK timings)
This BITESIZE online workshop is ideal for beginners and those looking to learn new stitches to develop their embroidery further.
Workshop details
This workshop is a perfect opportunity to have a fun time doodling with thread. Faith will teach you how to use eight different stitches to create an embroidery that measures approximately 11 cm across. Of course, you can make it bigger if you wish! You can copy the design shown or create your very own unique composition.
During the workshop Faith will teach you how to embroider each of the eight stitches onto a plain cotton background. You will also be shown how some of these stitches can appear quite different depending on how you use them. You will be able to use each stitch to doodle your design as densely or lightly as you wish to create your own unique design.
Faith will demonstrate the stitches using stranded cotton and give you suggestions for different colour schemes. You will receive a handout that includes each of the stitches.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
Equipment & materials list
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below.
You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching the live demonstration, but you are welcome to stitch along if you wish. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
