Tutor: Karen Carter
Wed 9th June 10am - 12pm
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop offers a fun mixed media approach suitable for beginners and those who have experimented a little with mixed media before.
Workshop details
Using simplification, mark-making and a loose impressionistic approach, Karen will teach you how to tackle a busy subject and make it manageable!
Karen will show you how to create a collaged ground using text, tissue and patterned papers as the starting point for your image. You will then learn how to work over this with layers of acrylic paint - spattering, dripping, and scraping to create a loose impression of a harbour scene, adding more collage elements as you need them.
Further layers of paint, simple ways to depict boats, and adding detail and linework with pen, ink and pastel make the whole image come alive. (And don't forget, if you don’t like a bit, you can always just cover it up with more collage!)
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
Equipment & materials list
Materials are not included in the course fee.
This materials list is for guidance only - you can improvise and source your own materials, either in advance or once you have seen the LivePlus™ workshop, giving you maximum flexibility to choose how you would like to approach this craft.
You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching the live demonstration – the demo session is a time to watch, ask and learn. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
