This two-day, onsite workshop is suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh.
Workshop Details
The French Polishing process allows for the piece of furniture to be revived and reinstated to its former fresh and beautiful appearance or for a new appearance to be formulated depending on how you envisage the furniture in-situ. Appreciating the artistry and craftsmanship in each piece of furniture makes the job of restoring a piece even more exciting and most therapeutic
This workshop is designed to give the student the fundamental skills of French polishing and woodcare and to give them a hands on experience leaving them with the vital practical skills needed to refinish furniture professionally or recreationally. As this is a two-day class, there will be more in depth tuition enabling students to work on a bigger piece of furniture. Each student will have a design consultation with the tutor before executing it on a piece of furniture of their choice. The tutor will also make sure professional photography is taken so you’ll walk away with a portfolio piece and imagery.
Skills/Techniques Covered
Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. All materials will be provided by the tutor, approximent cost will be £35 - £45 per student. The tutor may not have the facilities to take card payments for materials in the workshops. Please remember to bring cash or your cheque book if your course involves buying materials from the tutor.

We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.
