Wed 11th August 2pm - 4pm (UK time)
This online workshop forms part of our first ever Summer School and is designed to offer an introduction to monoprinting. Suitable for beginners and improvers alike.
Workshop details
Learn the basics of this simple hand-printing process and produce a set of single and multi-colour prints in this structured but relaxed workshop. We will look at creating interesting layers using additive & subtractive mark-making techniques, together with drawn monoprints, collage and mixed media…..be prepared to experiment and play!
A monoprint is a one-off image created directly onto a sheet of glass or plastic with ink or paint, then transferred to paper. Using mark-making, spattering, layering and linework you can produce unique images that are somewhere between a painting, drawing and print. Spontaneous, fast and fun this is printmaking for anyone who likes to work freely with colour and line.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
Equipment & materials list
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below.
You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching the live demonstration – the demo session is a time to watch, ask and learn. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
