Further Detail
Most of the looms will be threaded up ready for weaving. You can spend at least half the day weaving on a four-shaft table loom which has been set up for fabric weaving so you can create a variety of twill patterns. There are more than 70 to choose from. The rigid heddles will be set up for fabric weaving and you can use pick up sticks to weave textured patterns. You will also be shown how you can manipulate the warp on either type of loom to produce more textured patterns. The samples you create can be made up into small bags or used as mats. You will also be shown two ways of putting a warp on a rigid heddle loom as well as putting a warp on a frame (If you have woven before and would like to discuss what type of weaving you would like to do with Angela before the course, she can be contacted through the school; simon@ardingtonschool.com)
