Our classes take place live on Zoom. Online with you will be your tutor, a small group of classmates, and a member of our Ardington team as host.  You can enable ‘closed captions’ during the class if you require subtitles. Joining a class live allows you to interact in real-time and us to adapt our teaching accordingly.  Facilitated by your Ardington host, you can either unmute and talk to your tutor directly or use the ‘chat’ function.  During an ArtTalk, we will ask for all questions to be held until the live Q&A at the end. You are encouraged to have your camera on, at least during the welcome section and the final Q&A, to foster a sense of connection with your tutor and fellow students.  If you’d rather stay off camera or off mic, that’s not a problem; please just let your host know in the chat when you join the class. https://video.wixstatic.com/video/125620_f36a073884594d548a582147aac30c51/1080p/mp4/file.mp4

An email containing the link to access your Class Information page will be sent a few days before class begins. We also send a reminder email the night before class. You’ll open your Class Information page and click on the joining link in the green box.  Try and join a few minutes before your class is scheduled to start, if you can.  When you’ve clicked on the link, you’ll initially be held in our waiting room whilst a member of the Ardington team checks your registration details.  Once we’re ready, we will let you in.  We’ll ask you to ‘mute’ your microphone, once the class in underway, to ensure that we can hear the tutor clearly and achieve the best possible audio recording.  Please don’t be offended if are muted by your host, especially if you arrive late.  You are welcome to unmute to ask questions. Our ONLINE classes are enabled for Zoom closed captioning as standard. If you wish to use closed captions during a live class, please enable them locally in your Zoom application by using the 'Live Captioning' or 'CC' button at the bottom of your Zoom screen during the class. If you are watching a recording of a class, you can click on the 'CC' button to toggle the captions on and off. Everything you need will be shared through a secure webpage, known as a Class Information page.  This page is also how you will communicate with your tutor and fellow classmates pre & post class. In the week leading up to your class, you’ll be emailed a link to your Class Information page which will include: ·         The link to join the class live on Zoom ·         The link to watch the recording (uploaded after the class ends) ·         Any handouts, reference photos, and the materials list for you to download ·         Space to share your work with your tutor and receive 1:1 feedback ·         Class times, contact details, and any additional information A snapshot of a recent Class Information page on Padlet https://static.wixstatic.com/media/125620_32864c53267642acb755a901c62a344a~mv2.png These secure webpages are created and moderated in-house by Ardington using a third-party platform called Padlet.  Padlet is free to use and can be accessed on any web-enabled device, either through a standard browser or directly through the Padlet app.  You are encouraged to set up a Padlet account for the best possible experience when using our Class Information pages.  This is simple to do and completely free of charge.  Full details of how to set up an account are provided by email prior to your class. All information shared on our Class Information pages is for your sole, personal use only; our pages are protected and access is monitored by our team.  Sharing of our uploads or links is strictly prohibited.

A few hours after the class finishes, we will upload the link to watch the recording directly to the Class Information page.  You will need to open the Class Information page (using the link sent leading up to the class) and click on the access link in the blue box to watch the recording.   To minimise email traffic, you will not be emailed when the link is uploaded. You can just visit the Class Information page as and when you are ready to watch. The class will be recorded from the livestream, with the camera focused on the tutor and/or their workspace.  Our recordings capture audio and video, together with a full written transcript.  You can watch our recordings with ‘closed captions’ on, if required.
