(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop is ideal for beginners and those with some printmaking experience.
Workshop details
We’ll create three different sorts of plates – a textural collagraph plate for relief printing & rubbings; a simple cardcut to create line and tone (the inside of juice cartons work well); a plate made with mount board, glue and a variety of thin materials that hold ink in different ways to explore mark-making and colour.
Once we’ve made our plates, either to your own designs or from the templates provided, we’ll go through different inking methods from simple b/w then into colour playing with various techniques. Then the exciting bit – getting your prints on paper – a metal spoon & a bit of muscle power (you’re going to be the printing press!).
The prints can be further worked on to create mixed media images or be a finished piece in their own right. Additionally the plates themselves become a piece of art as they take on the stains from the inks.
This is a fun, versatile and sometimes unexpected process – be prepared to play & experiment. No experience needed.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
Equipment & materials list
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below.
