This LivePlus™ online workshop is ideal for beginners as well as those with some experience of working in mixed media. You do not need to be able to draw or paint in the traditional sense to enjoy this course - all you need is an open mind! This course is for anyone who wants to push their boundaries and is willing to explore & experiment.
Workshop details
This four-part series is designed to inspire you to be experimental around the theme of Spring landscapes. Capturing the growth and life all around us at this time of year, it is an opportunity to experiment with some exciting mixed media techniques and discover how to express your ideas and observations of colour, pattern, and texture and bring richness to your work.
Every week we will focus on different elements including line, colour, pattern, mark-making and surface texture and we'll explore specific painting and mixed media techniques. Together we will explore drawing, collage, layering, and painting, whilst looking to the work of other artists for inspiration.
You will be encouraged to work along with Jo's demonstrations each week and will be supported throughout with guidance and discussion. The classes will each have a practical 'techniques based' approach as we experiment with ideas to combine methods and materials whilst developing own own personal themes.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
