Tutor: Karen Carter
Wed 12th October 10am - 12pm
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop is an ideal follow on for any of Karen's acrylics classes, but is equally suitable for beginners and improvers. No experience needed, just a big apron and a willingness to have a go.
Workshop details
In this two-hour workshop, Karen will show you how to combine acrylics with pastes, aggregates and collage. Acrylics are perfect for using with a whole variety of other media, from things you can find in your kitchen cupboard to polyfilla and texture pastes.
To start we will create a textural ground to work on, using old buildings as our subject matter. We will create an interesting surface using both pastes and collage material, then use the paint both thickly and thinly to enhance the different layers while developing our image.
Add some drawn and scribbled marks with oil pastels or water-soluble crayons and acrylic pens, and a bit of spattering to create a lively loose image.
We would encourage you to have your paints ready to work along with Karen during the class, but you could also choose to just watch and learn - the decision is up to you. All students will be given access to the recording of the class, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
