This one-day workshop is suitable for beginners and those with experience.
Workshop Details
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to experiment with media and techniques to express your ideas around the garden theme. We will make observations from the garden - using creative drawing techniques , recording shapes, colours and textures and marks. We will explore different approaches and starting points and developing these into compositions that explore the viewpoint to zoom in and out to create depth. We will experiment with colour mixing and combinations to use in our work. Creating collage papers and stencils to enrich the image with mark and pattern and learn layering techniques and background effects. exploring colour, layering and mark-making,
We will work on a series of small images that can be used as starting points for a bigger piece, or be pieces of art in their own right – a perfect way to experiment with techniques and explore the garden theme

Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. Some materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £ 8.00 payable to the tutor during the workshop.
Students - please bring with you:
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

Students - please bring with you:
- Drawing materials- soft pencil (2b), pens, rubber etc
- Paper or sketchbook for drawing outside
- Watercolour paper or thick cartridge A3 or bigger (sheet or pad) as a base.
- Garden images or inspiration
- Brushes (a range of sizes) for acrylic
- If you have your own acrylic paints and wish to bring them, please feel free – but please do not buy any specially, as the tutor will have them.
- Collage papers you may like to use
