Class details
At Ardington we believe that creativity can have a hugely positive impact on our wellbeing; it can boost mood, help us to de-stress, and get us into a state of flow. Art Journaling is a fun and simple way to incorporate creativity into your life and this workshop forms part of our new monthly 'Art Journaling for Wellbeing' series.
In this month's class we will create a vibrant, abstract art journal page using watercolours, collage and mark-making. We will explore the idea of using 'I Am' affirmations and will see how they can help us to challenge repetitive thought patterns.
Once we have chosen our individual affirmation, we will create our page in stages, using the design principle of rhythm. We will learn to incorporate space as an important component of the overall composition.
Your art journal is a great place to experiment and try out different approaches to art without the pressure of creating a masterpiece. From simple mark making to elaborate mixed media art, this series of work-along classes will teach you a variety of new skills; helping you to gain confidence in your artistic ability and develop a creative habit that is enriching and nourishing.
Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online blackboard. Helpful and easy to use, they enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – just as you would in a classroom environment.
Sai will offer feedback via the blackboard for any work uploaded by students within thirty days of the class ending. You will be sent the link to access your blackboard in the week before your class begins and will have access for at least sixty days after the class ends.
After the live session has finished on Zoom, we will share the link to view the recording on the blackboard. You can watch the recording as many times as you like for sixty days.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
