Workshop details
In this workshop, you will learn the skills required to make beautiful art deco inspired jewellery from metal clay, using a range of art deco style cutters and textures, along with the skills needed to continue making jewellery at home if you wish.
During the workshop you will learn all about Silver Clay, and what makes it such a fantastic material to work with. After a brief introduction the tutor will talk you through what to expect on the workshop, you will then be taken step by step through some of the different techniques you can use to make your art deco inspired jewellery, including how to adorn your pieces with little kiln-safe cubic zirconia. You will be shown how to make your own templates and how to add textures to your pieces. You will learn methods to dry your pieces and how to safely fire your creations either in a kiln or using a butane torch.
Once your pieces are fired, your tutor will show you how to get them beautiful and shiny. When your pieces are completed you will receive a little jewellery box take your lovely new jewellery home in.

- How to make a bail part of your design to hang your piece from.

- Kiln and torch firing method
- How to polish and finish your pieces
Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. All materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £30*, payable to the tutor during the workshop. .(* this is for all the basic materials needed for the workshop – including 10g of silver clay, 1 cubic Zirconia, a sterling silver 18’ chain, Sterling silver ear wires, sterling silver jump rings, which should be ample to make one pendant and earrings set – dependent of size. If you absolutely love the material and wish to make more (subject to time restrictions) extra clay will be available to purchase on the day at the following prices £12.95 for 5g, £16.65 for 7g and £22.95 for 10g. Extra Cubic Zirconia's available for £1 each.
The tutor can accept cash or card payment for materials
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.
