Class details
At Ardington we believe that creativity can have a hugely positive impact on our wellbeing; it can boost mood, help us to de-stress, and get us into a state of flow. Art Journaling is a fun and simple way to incorporate creativity into your life and this workshop forms part of our new monthly 'Art Journaling for Wellbeing' series.
This month we will be exploring how good composition has a strong visual impact. But what exactly is composition? It is that aspect of your painting where all the individual elements come together and form a unified cohesive layout.
In this interactive project we explore the many ways in which you can create a good composition. Using a combination of collage techniques, watercolour and mark-making we will create a beautiful journal page that applies a number of design principles such as the grid, rule of thirds, rule of odds, emphasis, scale, balance etc. This is a great opportunity to study composition in a fun, interactive way using a mixed media technique.
Your art journal is a great place to experiment and try out different approaches to art without the pressure of creating a masterpiece. From simple mark making to elaborate mixed media art, this series of work-along classes will teach you a variety of new skills; helping you to gain confidence in your artistic ability and develop a creative habit that is enriching and nourishing.
Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online class page. Helpful and easy to use, these private pages enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – before, during, and after class.
Sai will offer personal feedback for any work submitted via the class page within thirty days of the class ending. The link to access the page will be shared via email in the days leading up to the class.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
