Session details
Wellbeing work-alongs are a new addition to the Ardington ONLINE programme; the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, no homework!
Join us as we potter our way gently through an absorbing single project, enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time together creating something wonderful.
Gather a collection of autumn leaves from your garden or local park to create a selection of prints, masks and rubbings to make the pages of a simple folded book. There will be colour mixing demos and some easy techniques using tube watercolour, gouache, or acrylics – or you can even use little ink pads for the ultimate ‘no mess’ printing method! We will work on a variety of coloured papers – whatever you have – cutting, sticking and layering to make a lovely reference book of autumn.
We will all be working along with Karen at a gentle pace. Follow along step-by-step or use your own creative freedom to incorporate the materials and methods Karen demonstrates - the choice is completely yours.
We are really looking forward to sharing these new sessions with you. So, grab yourselves a cuppa, switch off your phone, and settle down to enjoy a peaceful afternoon creating with us online!
Specific skills you will learn
- Colour mixing for autumn hues
- Simple printing techniques
- Making folded book-forms
Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online class page. Helpful and easy to use, these private pages enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – before, during, and after class. The link to access the page will be shared via email in the days leading up to the class.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment. For full terms and conditions, please click here.
