Workshop details
Join us for the first instalment of our brand new Sketchbook Club. Your chance to spend five weeks creating, collecting, experimenting and exploring with two of our favourite Ardington tutors, Janina Maher and Karen Carter.
Sketchbooks can sometimes feel a bit daunting, so in this relaxed and informal series of workshops, Janina and Karen will be focused on helping you get started. They will show you a whole range of techniques and will give you lots of ideas for how to start filling those pages.
A sketchbook is a safe place to try out ideas, make a visual record, store notes and reference, and most of all to play! Without the pressure of a finished piece of work, a sketchbook is the perfect place to snatch small moments of creative time for yourself.
As well as the plentiful demos and exercises each week, Janina and Karen will also be sharing a glimpse into their own personal sketchbooks with you – your chance to see the good, the bad and the ugly!
The overall theme for this series will be Autumn.
Week 1: Skip into Sketchbooks with Janina Maher
An introduction to using sketchbooks, the tools and materials. Assemble your inspiration and work-along make a mini curly wurly book.
Week 2: Colour & Collage with Karen Carter
