Speaker: Martin Beek
Wed 21st September 2pm - 3:15pm UK time
This talk forms part of Martin's 'Impressionism' series which takes place throughout the Autumn. This talk follows on beautifully from the Monet talks earlier in September, and links to the Degas talk in October and the Renoir talk in November.
ArtTalk details
Édouard Manet is one of the most significant artists of the late nineteenth century. His work brings together many influences resulting in a new and exciting approach to painting. Martin looks at Manet's close association with the Impressionist artists as well as looking at his work in a broader European context.
Martin's talk will be illustrated where possible with original photographs and slides. He will also provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk.
The talk will last for 60 minutes, followed by an open Q&A session.
