Join Heather Held for her Fascinating Floral Rinceau class where you will be introduced to an intricate style of floral ornament that graces many illuminated manuscripts. These designs look very complex, but they have simple structures that make them blossom on the page.
We'll look at hand drawn florals of every shape, size, and colour and how they can be combined to create magical borders and corner designs. You will be amazed at how beautifully these designs are constructed and how they will transform your calligraphic artwork.
This class takes an inspiring look at floral motifs from medieval manuscripts, as well as gilded accents and intriguing pen drawn filigree. You will learn how to study the details before drawing and painting these lavish borders. You will find endless possibilities to use these magical rinceau designs; there is so much to discover in this joyful process.
