Exploring Acrylics: Birds & Blossoms
Wed 29th April
10am - 12pm UK Time
Tutor: Karen Carter
Bookings Close: 22 April
This class is suitable for students of all abilities
Spring has sprung! Let’s take inspiration from blossom-filled trees and a multitude of birds bringing colour to our gardens.
We will look at the work of Van Goghs trees under the influence of Chinese brush painting, the bird prints of Robert Gillmor, right up to present-day contemporary artists, to create a joyful colourful piece of work.
We will start with colour-mixing and various techniques for depicting flower blossom and some simple ways to draw birds. Then working on a brightly coloured ground we will layer our acrylics using the ‘blocking-in and building up technique’ to create a lively image of birds nestling amongst the flowers and foliage.
No experience necessary (and you don’t need to be able to draw – this is not a botanical painting class!) So grab a big apron and your brightest tubes of paint and let’s have some fun!
