Handmade books meet paper engineering in this one and a half hour workshop! Janina will show you how to make two related but different book structures – a piano hinge and a reverse piano hinge. Both of the demonstration books will be A6 in size
The piano hinge book structure is held together by kebab sticks and clever cutting, and the reverse piano hinge by ingenious tabs which are only visible inside the book.
Janina will demonstrate all the steps involved. You are welcome to work along during the first stages but Janina will have some half made samples, and you may prefer to watch the later stages. You are invited to ask questions at any stage during the demos.
