The Art of Collecting Colour
online mixed media class
Tues 16th June
10am - 12pm UK Time
Tutor: Sai Banerjee
Bookings Close: 2 June
This class is suitable for students of all abilities
Have you ever noticed how a specific shade of blue seems to follow you through the day, or how many different greens exist in a single square inch of a garden? In this two-hour class, we hit pause on the noise of the full rainbow to focus solely on the beauty of a monochromatic world.
This isn't a colour theory class necessarily; it’s a practice in mindfulness and curation. We will begin by selecting a single colour that speaks to you and learn how to hunt for it in the everyday—from the spine of a book to the flowers you can see from your window. Whilst we're working we'll also take a little look at the psychology of colour.
Working in a sketchbook or art journal, you will be creating a 'colour collection' on one side in mixed media, and on the other side we will mirror the same monochromatic colour scheme incorporating a word that speaks to you.
