Developing Watercolour Skills
Sun 22nd March
10am - 4pm
Tutor: Kevin Scully
We will examine an extensive range of techniques—both traditional and contemporary—that can be used to enhance and enliven your watercolour paintings. You will be guided through one of the most important aspects of watercolour painting: choosing the most suitable materials and learning how to use them effectively.
Rather than working through isolated exercises, you will incorporate a variety of techniques into completed watercolour paintings. As well as learning how to use the medium to its full potential, we will explore ways in which common mistakes can often be corrected.
This workshop will not cover the usual gimmicks associated with watercolour painting; instead, we will focus on using this beautiful, semi-transparent medium to its greatest strengths.
The workshop is suitable for all levels, although some prior experience with watercolour would be beneficial. All reference material will be supplied, and the subject matter will be varied.
