Wellbeing work-alongs offer the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, any homework is voluntary!
December's Stitchalong class will focus on ideas for making simple stitched decorations and tags for the home and gifts. Grab some fabric, a cup of tea and perhaps a mince pie for a relaxing pre-Christmas sewing session.
Janice will demonstrate how to plan simple designs and how simple hand stitches can be combined to make small yet effective motifs and patterns.
We would encourage you to use fabrics and threads you have to hand but if you have a particular theme or colour way in mind, you will need some small pieces of plain fabric (try linen, calico or felt) and some embroidery thread or perle cotton thread in the colours of your choosing.
We will look at two options, both of which will include instructions to attach a loop:
- stitching a motif within your embroidery hoop and cutting it out for attachment to a backing
- working with small pieces of fabric without a hoop
As we work alongside each other, Janice will share some of her current work and an outline of the 2026 stitch-along programme.
