Fun with Goldwork (Taster Day)
Mon 28th July
10am - 4pm
Tutor: Sarah Maddison
This one-day, onsite workshop is designed for absolute beginners and those with a little experience.
Have you ever wanted to try goldwork? Are you a novice stitcher? Join textile artist Sarah Maddison from SixtyFourPackingCases and create a stunning Golden Bumblebee.
Goldwork has been around for centuries and has always been a sign of wealth and status, most often seen on ecclesiastical vestments, uniforms and the clothing of monarchs and aristocracy.
Sarah takes a very relaxed approach to Goldwork having been mainly self-taught, and really wants to make it accessible even to the newest of stitchers. This course is not for goldwork purists but is designed to give you a taster and perhaps a desire to study this technique further.
