This class is suitable for students of all abilities
Using simplification, mark-making, and a loose impressionistic approach we will learn how to tackle a busy subject and make it manageable! We will combine collage, acrylic painting and linework to create multi-layered images in this fun and informal workshop.
We will create a collaged ground using text and tissue paper to give us an interesting surface to work on, then work over this with layers of acrylic paint - spattering, dripping, and scraping to create a loose impression of a harbour scene.
Further layers of paint, simple ways to depict boats, and adding detail and linework with a dip-pen or acrylic paint markers, and a splash of bright colour will make the whole image come alive.
A fun mixed media approach suitable for beginners and anyone wanting to work in a free and forgiving way….if you don’t like a bit just paint over it or cover it up with more collage.
