During this two-part class, students will be introduced to the beautiful patterns of Indian miniature painting.
Often found interwoven into the compositions of these delicate paintings, or indeed as an elaborate border to complete a piece, these colourful and intricate designs come alive with detailed outlines of gold .
Taking one floral pattern , students will learn how to prepare paper in the traditional way as well as how to transfer their design. Painting techniques of flooding , shading, and outlining will be covered creating a delicate floral pattern. To embellish the design students will also use gold to complete their design.
