This class is suitable for students of all abilities
 

Create a beautiful Midnight Garden infused with light and metallic shimmer on dark toned papers.  Join Heather as we grow our garden of inspiration from historic sources such as the Black Hours, Flowering Manuscripts and Russian Lacquer work.  Various techniques will be explored from a chalky grisaille underpainting to frosted edges and metallic top glazes. Students will learn how to sensitively apply these special touches to create stunning and mesmerizing results.
 

Designs can be created with watercolour, gouache and coloured pencil. Each border design can offer new possibilities as the results vary with the mediums and the chosen combination of techniques.
 

This class is designed to enhance your painting skills as well as increase your level of adventure into that magic of dark papers. All skill levels are welcome in this intriguing class. Learn how to see in the dark!
