It is really easy to carve your own stamps for printing and, in this two-hour class, Janina will guide you through all the steps for getting started!
First we will look at the options for the rubber carving blocks, as well as the different types of ink pads. Then we will get started with the design of our images and transfer these onto the rubber blocks - Janina will show you how to “proof” your image and refine it - and then we'll start to explore options for pattern making, and for making multi-coloured prints.
During the class, Janina will guide your through two projects using your newly carved rubber stamps. The first will be a mini book using the stamp(s) on the cover. The second project will be a stencil based project involving repeated stampings. She'll also show you lots of examples of her own work as inspiration.
