Wellbeing work-alongs offer the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, any homework is voluntary!
The aim of our 'Simple Stitches' series is to learn or revisit simple embroidery stitches, work slowly by hand, and enjoy the process.
The class will include a brief introduction, followed by a ‘show and sew’ demonstration of French knots, cross stitch and their various applications, Janice will show you how she has used and developed these useful and decorative textural stitches in her own work to embellish and give texture to her textile pieces.
All you need to begin your unique stitched sampler is a needle, some thread, a pair of scissors, and time.
This session is suitable for all levels of experience and as we work alongside each other, Janice will share images of her own work and contemporary textile artists who continue the tradition of embroidery and needlework in new and exciting ways.
The final class in the series will be:
- Couching & Applique
