Janina Maher and Karen Carter return with a brand new series of their collaborative Sketchbook Club classes and this year's theme is 'No Place Like Home'.  Look around your home with fresh eyes to be amazed at the number of things you have to hand which can inspire your sketchbook pages!

Week 1: ‘Up the Garden Path’ with Janina
We will record the view looking at the exterior view of your home (and maybe your neighbours too...!). We will search for the patterns and colours of winter plants to inspire our sketchbook work too.

Week 2: ‘A Window of Opportunity!’ with Karen
We'll find all sorts of interesting things to paint and draw as we explore what’s on your windowsill – maybe a collection of quirky ornaments or a plethora of pot-plants.  What about looking inside & outside – a view through the window – we'll create a grid journal using the panes of glass to divide up your view.

Week 3: 'Raiding the Kitchen' with Janina
This week we will have a closer look at all those lovely labels and jars you have in your cupboards. We will also draw / paint some sweets in various stages of being unwrapped... then you are allowed to eat them! If time allows, we will also discuss how you may go about illustrating a favourite recipe as homework.

Week 4: ‘What’s in your Wardrobe?’ with Karen
Time to unearth all those fabulous handbags, scarves, and shoes hiding in your wardrobe and use them for inspiration.  We will ‘steal’ pattern elements and colour themes from your collection then layer with collage, paint and print to create playful mixed media studies.

For each of the workshops some photo references will be provided, but you may also want to work from real objects in front of you.
