This class is suitable for students of all abilities
In this two-part class you will learn strategies to make simple fabric vases and vessels using re-purposed fabrics and threads. We will use our own small pots, jars and tins to for shape inspiration and to create paper templates.
We will work with layers of fabric and wadding to create strength and height and we will also look at ways of retaining the original jars, tins or bows within the construction to make the finished vessels more sturdy and adaptable for use in the home, office and even outdoors. The aim is to make something fun, unique and personal to you and to enjoy the process of making a useful item from materials that might otherwise have been discarded.
All stitches and processes will be demonstrated, so beginners are very welcome to attend. Those with more textile experience may be interested in using this class as inspiration for their own creative approaches.
