We are delighted to welcome Mary Jane Mucklestone, American knitwear designer, author, and former co-editor of Vogue Knitting, to the Ardington family.
For her first ONLINE class, Mary Jane shares her favourite methods for choosing colours in stranded colorwork. Over the course of the classes, she’ll explain how the techniques employed in traditional Fair Isle knitting simplify the work.
Colour is big fun — yet a big fear for many. Discussing its traditional uses will take some of the mystery out of colour selection and open your eyes to new colour relationships. Students will explore the painter’s colour wheel and how it can assist in their colour selection.
There will be elements of work-along as we create swatches and turn them into useful items, accompanied by step-by-step tutor demonstration and completed examples. The three-part format will allow students the time it takes to put into practice the concepts presented. More time means less stress!
There will be simple homework tasks set between classes for all students. All patterns required for homework tasks will be provided.
