Wellbeing work-alongs are the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, no stress!
Take a break from all the Christmas mayhem with this gentle work-along session. We will potter about with paint & paper, working our way through an absorbing project, immersed in the pleasure of the process.
In this final wellbeing work-along of the year, we will take our inspiration from the decorative traditions of folk art, creating a lovely illustrative picture of owls amongst twining branches and foliage. A template will be provided but there is plenty of scope for customizing it to your own design.
There will be colour mixing demos and some simple layering techniques using watercolour or gouache – whatever you have or prefer to work with. Add a bit of linework and detail with gold pen or paint to finish it off. This is a slow-paced detailed project, perfect for those wet winter days, so you may not get it finished within the session time. Don't worry though, you will have all the skills needed to complete your beautiful picture at your own pace after the class.
You can work along with Karen at a gentle pace – so grab yourselves a cuppa, turn off your phone and enjoy a peaceful afternoon playing with paint!
