Tutor: Jan Mehigan
Bookings Close: 30 September
Tues 14th October 10am - 12pm
Tues 21st October 10am - 12pmThis class is suitable for beginners with a little experience and those who wish to expand their watercolour skills.
In this two-part class, Jan will be drawing and painting the fruits of October. We'll look at sweetcorn (if available), large fir cones or seed pods, mushrooms, or other interesting plants of Autumn time.
Jan will demonstrate how to observe your subject, then draw, then paint confidently using fresh clean watercolour. We will consider the technique of wet-into-wet, wet into dry, and learn how to build colour to give rich details to the study, plus creating soft shadows to give light and clarity to your work.
We will look at using masking fluid in appropriate areas and lifting colour. We will investigate ways of mixing really good browns and greens, which are often difficult, to enhance the chosen vegetable, fruit or seedpod and when adding leaves and stems.
Jan will demonstrate the easy way to create good composition. A different study choice will be made in week two. This online class will be informative, fun, rewarding, and enjoyable.
