Contemporary Watercolours: Season Two
Starts Wed 15th April
2pm - 3:30pm UK Time
Tutor: Karen Carter
Bookings Close: 8 April
'Contemporary Watercolours: Season Two’ is the second instalment of a brand new series for 2026, brought to you by Karen Carter. Each series is made up of three classes – one per month - to build a regular practice and enjoy some ‘me time.’ This class is suitable for students of all abilities.
This booking is for the following three sessions:
- Wed 15th April 2pm - 3:30pm UK time
- Wed 13th May 2pm - 3:30pm UK time
- Wed 10th June 2pm - 3:30pm UK time
Each month we will explore different techniques to build a library of skills, while creating fun projects to use as cards, wall-art or simply to keep in your sketchbooks.
In this second set of three sessions we will be looking at working on different coloured grounds, the art of the quick sketch in landscape painting, and loose & lively flowers. Each session will have a colour mixing exercise relevant to the subject to build your colour library, ideas for good composition and the introduction of additional techniques or media.
The emphasis is on having fun with the paint (this isn’t a course about traditional watercolours!) and enjoying the process. We’ll break the ‘rules’, splatter and splosh…and add in a bit of sparkle for good measure!
You can work along with Karen at a gentle pace or follow the demos in your own time. Please note that you don’t need to have done the previous season of Contemporary Watercolours – each of these sessions can be enjoyed without prior experience.
