Wellbeing work-alongs offer the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, any homework is voluntary!
The aim of our 'Simple Stitches' series is to learn or revisit simple embroidery stitches, work slowly by hand, and enjoy the process. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and we can discuss individual project ideas and creative plans as we stitch.
This month we will focus on learning the basics of needle weaving using the traditional St Valentine’s motif of a heart. Needle weaving is used in darning as well as for decorative purposes and is a great way to add interest and colour to your pieces.
We start each session with a brief introduction followed by a ‘show and sew’ demonstration. Janice will also provide guidance on drawing this month's motif directly onto the fabric.
This session is suitable for all levels of experience and as we work alongside each other, Janice will share some of the resources and inspiration she uses in her own work.
