Tues 21st April 10am - 12pm UK timeThis class is suitable for students of all abilities
In this two-part class, Jan will show you how to draw and paint the fresh flowers of spring. You can use flowers and leaves of your own or work from the photographs supplied.
Jan will demonstrate how to begin with an observational drawing. We will then paint using fresh clean colour; learning the techniques of wet-into-wet, building the colour to give rich details, and creating soft shadows to give light and clarity to your work.
We will look at masking areas and lifting colour. We will also be mixing greens, always difficult, to enhance the flowers, leaves and stems. Jan will demonstrate how to design and arrange composition.
We will work on two small paintings across the two sessions, giving you the opportunity to try the different techniques that you need to learn. This class will be informative, fun, rewarding, and enjoyable.
