This four-week class will give you the opportunity to learn a variety of techniques for gilding on paper. We’ll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each, and, as always, there will be tips and tricks for improving your gilding and suggestions for problem solving if your work doesn’t turn out quite as planned!- Week 1: Gilding flat on the page
- Week 2: Traditional and contemporary methods for creating raised areas of gilding
- Week 3: Making, binding and using shell gold
- Week 4: Putting it all together, basic painting techniques, outlining your design and presentation
