Wellbeing work-alongs offer the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, any homework is voluntary!
The aim of our 'Simple Stitches' series is to learn or revisit simple embroidery stitches, work slowly by hand, and enjoy the process. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and we can discuss individual project ideas and creative plans as we stitch.
We will start 2026 by exploring four ways to outline motifs and letters. This session will also focus on ways to draw directly on to your fabric, helping you begin to plan your own unique designs.
A brief demonstration of threading, splitting and knotting your thread will be followed by a demonstration of drawing a simple motif and practicing stem, back, split and running stitches.
This session is suitable for all levels of experience and as we work alongside each other, Janice will share some of the resources and inspiration she uses in her own work.
